WHAT IS VEAP?
VEAP stands for Virtual Events and Activations Platform. It is practically an online space we provide for clients to pursue immersive and memorable brand engagement efforts namely, events and activations, that used to be done on-ground prior to the challenges of the pandemic.

VEAP is a synergy of our expertise in Traditional Below-the-Line Advertising, out-of-the-box thinking, and the power of digital and electronic systems to channel creative engineering for meaningful connections between people and brands.

WHO OWNS THE PLATFORM?
The platform is owned by the Tagline Group of Companies part of which are Oncuemedia, Inc., Five Seconds Advertising, Hey! Communications and Binary Digital Advertising.

HAS THIS BEEN DONE BEFORE IN THE COUNTRY?
No. VEAP was launched on June 30, 2020 as an industry-first, country-first virtual platform created by The Tagline Group for virtual events and brand activations. It is also arguably the first-of-its-kind here in Asia as well.

The concept, including the featured activities and systems for immersive experiences we have in the space have been based on a selection of work we’ve successfully done before using the digital and electronic platforms and the prevailing standards of engagement online.

We also aim to provide a memorable visit for the audience to enjoy to help complement marketing goals. With that in mind, we can create a variety of entertaining and educational activities fit for a brand via our chat, photo, play, listen, watch, share on social media, purchase and delivery features in an easy-to-navigate platform to help enhance the experience.

For brands, we offer ad spaces, a feedback system, live guest count and analytics for a better understanding of their guest’s behaviour inside the space.

HOW LONG WOULD IT TAKE FOR YOU TO DEVELOP A SPACE FOR AN EVENT OR ACTIVATION?
3D spatial design development for VEAP Motion can take 2 to 3 months. For VEAP Live, the development can be done in 2 to 3 weeks. All these, depending on the scope of the planned engagement. These would include its activities, content copy, and the user interface.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO DEPLOY A CUSTOM CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (CMS) FOR MY BRAND ENGAGEMENT?
It only takes 48 hours for our developers to deploy a custom CMS for VEAP. This will be inclusive of the existing functions of our native Content Management System, and all of your brand assets. Additional functions will be mapped out separately depending on technical requirements.

HOW BIG OF A CROWD CAN THE SPACE ACCOMMODATE?
VEAP can accommodate small to large audiences.

IS THERE SECURITY OF INFORMATION?
The platform has information security measures where in (a) any sensitive data stored in the server are encrypted; (b) firewall protection is enabled; (c) industry standard software are used for regular vulnerability assessment; and (d) Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates are used to establish an encrypted link to ensure private transmission of all data between the web server and the browser.

This is exactly why Colgate-Palmolive pulled all stops to make sure that every single member of their team was psyched for the race of the year! Like an entire pit crew in a racing event, everyone had to perform with precision to feed the need for speed, working with a collective desire to get out of the pit as a faster, stronger, well-oiled engine that dishes out high-octane performance fueled by excellence.

Spurred by the desire to energize every single crew, keeping them focused on the goal of winning 2022, Colgate-Palmolive collaborated with the Virtual Events and Activations Platform (VEAP) to kick the pedal to the metal, mounting “One CP: Excellerate Pilipinas 2022” national sales conference–while introducing innovations exclusively for the former–with the goal of imbuing a strong sense of teamwork, responsibility, and desire to make excellent executions as they up the ante on their efforts. Stepping into the virtual event space, guests received a warm welcome to an environment that was designed to simulate the energy in major racing events, fueling adrenaline in every attendee’s inner being. This had been amplified further by new features in the virtual platform—a fully gamified environment complete with team scoring and badge systems via a passport, native game development keeping tabs on every team’s progress, and a newly-improved photobooth that now saves 3 camera shots in every digital photo card.

DENR COMMITS TO REHABILITATION OF DEGRADED FOREST LANDS USING BAMBOO AT THE 2021 WORLD BAMBOO DAY VIRTUAL FAIR

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources - Forest Management Bureau (DENR-FMB) mounted the first Virtual Bamboo Fair via the Virtual Events and Activations Platform (VEAP) from October 5-8, 2021, in line with its month-long celebration of World Bamboo Day.

With the theme “Alay ng Bayan sa Inang Kalikasan: Kawayan,” the DENR recognized the huge role that bamboo plays in our daily lives and wanted to celebrate its innate strength as depicted both in local mythology and in real life. The virtual fair served as an avenue for the department, as well as various bamboo stakeholders, to showcase different projects and efforts to further strengthen the Philippine bamboo industry. One of the key highlights was a commitment to restore and rehabilitate the degraded forest lands with bamboo from DENR Secretary Roy Cimatu.

Entering the virtual event space, guests are treated to an outdoor environment that made use of bamboo as the key design element. Every virtual booth presented efforts undertaken by each department under the DENR as well as partner organizations in strengthening the local bamboo industry, creating pockets of opportunity for interaction between officials and attendees, uniting under a common goal -- that is, to utilize bamboo as a means to achieve long-term sustainable development.

At the day’s end, the innate strength of the bamboo isn’t just embodied in tales that make the stuff of legends; it’s also seen in all of us, represented by the over 200 attendees, the DENR and its commitment to continue its target of planting 26,147 hectares of forestlands as part of the implementation of the Enhanced National Greening Program (ENGP) this year, in order to achieve its goal of reforesting 40% of all degraded forest lands in CY 2022, as well as efforts initiated by other stakeholders to include bamboo plantation in social development in the coming years, proving that while strength comes in numbers, it’s when these numbers are mobilized that a brighter future can be achieved.

FARA UNITES FIL-AM NEW YORKERS AT VEAPTV TO RALLY AGAINST HATE CRIMES

Not long ago, Filipina Vilma Kari was on her way to church when a man violently knocked her on the ground and kicked her in the face yelling racist slurs telling her “she did not belong”. This is just one of the few hate incidents we know about; yet there could be more that are unreported.

The rising anti-Asian violence towards the Filipino American community alarmed attorney Lara Gregory and inspired her to use her voice and extensive legal experience to create an organization that will empower the minorities to fight against anti-Asian hate: the Filipino Americans for Racial Action, or FARA.

Through FARA, racial assault victims and other stakeholders will be given a platform to speak up and champion legislative changes. It also offers them a safe space to freely share their stories as Filipino-American, as well as eradicate cultural ignorance by educating society about their experiences, history, and achievements.

Now, while social distancing protocols due to the pandemic prevented the Filipino American community and FARA to physically come together and rally against hate crimes, the partnership with the Virtual Events and Activations Platform tv (VEAPtv) made it possible for Filipino-Americans from all over the United States to virtually unite and take action.

Guests were able to watch the launch of the campaign movement through VEAPtv - an all-in-one live streaming platform with easy-to-navigate features for a seamless live stream experience. The customized platform allowed the audience to get to know more about FARA in just a few clicks while the single-page design gave them comprehensible and seamless experiences so they can focus on the most important content. They were also able to communicate with their “kababayan” in the audience through the chatbox and share their thoughts on the Survey page.

The vast majority of Fil-Ams may be keeping a safe distance from each other but that should not discourage the rest of the minorities to connect and engage in social movements. Because even at the comfort of their homes, we showed we can still be at the forefront in battling racism, violence, and xenophobia especially now that the challenges of the times call for us to be invincible, not invisible.

VEAP AND FWD PHILIPPINES CELEBRATE A LIFE WORTH LIVING WITH FWD BIRTHDAY

Birthdays deserve to be remembered and celebrated; after all, it’s a perfect way to remember the milestones that were, and look forward to those that are yet to come. With the pandemic uncertainties, celebrations were halted, not just because of the lockdowns but also with the gravitas of emotions that seemingly had anxiety taking over joy.

But FWD had something else in mind -- a fool-proof plan to bring the joy of celebrations to every corner of the digital space, inspiring its policyholders to enjoy and learn, as they move along to being a stronger version of themselves.

Wanting this plan to bear lasting and meaningful results, FWD teamed up with the Virtual Events and Activations Platform (VEAP) to invoke and foster that festive spirit, all in the name of inspiring its policyholders to look back at the year that was, and look forward to the one that lies ahead.

VEAP RAISES ITS FLAG WITH THE PHILIPPINE CONSULATE IN NEW YORK FOR OUR 123RD INDEPENDENCE DAY

Independence Day celebrations are normally colorful festivities draped with symbols that express our nationhood. Yet with COVID-19 restrictions and all, such large gatherings were far from reality on June 12, 2021 in New York City, unlike the Philippine Consulate General had hoped.

Still, the Virtual Events and Activations Platform (VEAP) stepped in with an exciting game plan: to bring the feeling of authentic national pride to every corner of the digital sphere where Filipinos are. Hence, we made an agile pivot towards moving it virtually, realizing it in a grand celebration called Kalayaan 2021: 123rd Philippine Independence Day, with the theme “Diwa ng Kalayaan sa Pagkakaisa at Paghilom ng Bayan”, showing how our history of freedom must not be taken for granted, rather, it must spur us even further into unity and healing in the midst of the world's recent hurdles.

To put this theme into fruition, VEAP wanted to invoke a sense of both national pride and inspire the spirit of communal action or “bayanihan” into each and every segment of the event, showcasing our beautiful heritage in the Visual Arts, Culinary, and Fashion sectors with dedicated booths. Moreover, a concierge representing the Philippine Consulate General was also set up, providing online visitors pertinent information about its services and the organization.

Furthermore, to bring the community feeling into the virtual space, an online video wall was also put up, showcasing heartfelt Independence Day greetings of Filipinos and Filipino-Americans from various states in the U.S Northeast. A partners’ booth was also set up, helping visitors learn more about the Consulate’s corporate and organizational sponsors through videos and detailers.

Engaging visitors is a key objective for virtual events, hence VEAP also included several features that could immerse them in “Kalayaan 2021” further. From fun photobooth, to breakout chat rooms that allow visitors to network with each other, to OPM playlists, these allowed visitors to truly feel the authentic Filipino atmosphere within a digital space. Building upon these features, “Kalayaan 2021” also included a Program section, where users can gather virtually to watch special live performances, and chat with others while they join in on the fun. Audiences were also kept entertained through exciting raffles, quizzes, and surveys to gauge their experience of the event.

As such, the Kalayaan 2021: 123rd Philippine Independence Day celebrations were a resounding success, with 5,990 visitors logging in and 8,742 user engagements, the largest of its kind for a VEAP engagement, further cementing our brand of immersive virtual events into Filipinos’ consciousness wherever they are in the world.

PHA TAKES MEDICAL CONFERENCES TO THE NEXT LEVEL

There is anticipation, a certain feeling of heightened excitement for some, in the world of medical conferences. There's the social aspect of cocktails and catch-ups with friends and colleagues; of out-of-town trips that are a respite from the clinical routine, and the new sites & experiences that make the journey worthwhile. And then there’s the more intellectual part, the main feature, of research and discoveries; breakthroughs in technology and the advances for treatment & patient care. The sessions are as diverse as the colorful personalities in attendance.

But life, as we know it, has changed. First to go were in-person human engagements and with it, contractions in medical events and conferences.

The crisis may have taken away the advantages of face-to-face interactions, but this is where technology saves the day. As the on-site conventions stopped, virtual reality stepped in; breathing life to organizations like the Philippine Heart Association whose programs and goals to promote and facilitate collaborative work in healthcare, especially in these Covid-19 times, rely on scientific assemblies and the meeting of the minds.

Only recently, from May 25 to 28 of this year, the PHA held its 51st Annual Convention & Scientific Meetings at the Virtual Events and Activations Platform of Five Seconds Advertising – a leading agency in brand experiences. In a move that easily positioned the organization to the forefront of future-driven conferences, the PHA introduced "Next Level Strategies", this year's theme to keep in time the pulse of the industry with the latest information on best practices, treatment options and patient care. All these to ensure that the quality of service and performance does not flatline.

With a strong pivot in adapting to the new reality, the 4-day annual convention saw the aims for education, research, policy-making, professional skills development and medical marketing courtesy of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies converge in one online platform. Research and policies were presented in plenary sessions. High-impact webinars aligned to the continuing medical education program as an arm to promote progressive thinking and performance across their field of specialized doctors were conducted, non-stop, alongside a number of advocacy fora among its lay followers utilizing the rooms and broadcast functions of the VEAP. Simultaneous to these, medical symposia conducted at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, made its way to the platform with some programs also showed among other members on Facebook Live. All-in-all, more than 5,300 doctors made their way to the VEAP: 119% greater than the number of attendees from the previous convention.

By staging the 51st edition of its annual convention with an adaptive and immersive structure to stimulate discussions, interactions, and the delivery of information & expert knowledge among remote participants, the PHA effectively establishes for the medical industry a standard that other societies must follow to remain relevant to the membership and the patients they serve.

In the best of times, the PHA was expected to provide an optimum level of care. In these uncertain times, it has been duty bound to amp up both knowledge and performance to sustain the rhythm of professional efficiency – taking to heart their commitment to level up strategies for the best possible care for patients across the country.
